‘FBI’ Will Have Major Change for Season 8

The seventh season of FBI may still be airing (the finale is on May 20), but we already know its future — and that includes a major change.

The CBS drama got a multi-season renewal in April 2024 to take it through Season 9 in the 2026-2027 season “The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, in a statement then. “Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”

Read on for everything we know about what’s to come for FBI, from a potential premiere date to who will be back and more.

When will FBI Season 8 premiere?

We know that FBI Season 8 will be on the fall 2025 schedule, but it will no longer be airing Tuesdays at 8/7c as part of a three-hour franchise block. The spinoffs International and Most Wanted have been canceled, but the new offshoot CIA is coming. Now, a two-hour block for the franchise will air on Mondays, with FBI taking the 9/8c slot.

Who’s in the FBI Season 8 cast?

Katherine Renee Kane (Tiffany) exited in the Season 7 premiere. In Season 7, the cast consists of Missy Peregrym (Maggie), Zeeko Zaki (OA), Jeremy Sisto (Jubal), Alana De La Garza (Isobel), and John Boyd (Scola). Lisette Olivera (Syd) was cast in a series regular role as Scola’s new partner, but exited after a few episodes. Then, Emily Alabi joined as Scola’s new partner, Dani Rhodes. We’ll have to see if she sticks around.

When’s the FBI Season 7 finale?

The last episode of the current season will air on Tuesday, May 20, at 8/7c. In “A New Day,” after Jubal narrowly escapes a calculated assault on a secret FBI office, the team discovers a rogue terrorist group has infiltrated the FBI. Unsure of who to trust, the team must work in the shadows to unmask the culprits threatening the sanctity of the New York field office.

What will FBI Season 8 be about?

We know that the agents will continue to investigate cases of the week, but as for any storylines that carry over, that will depend on how this season ends.
